The Vision That Started an Industry
BIG GROUP was founded by Chemical Engineer Chamatkar Singh Grover, whose early experience in breweries and distilleries revealed a major opportunity in India's industrial ecosystem.
Recognizing that valuable carbon dioxide generated during the fermentation process was being wasted and released into the atmosphere, he established India's first commercial CO₂ recovery facility in Bathinda, Punjab, in 1989.
That pioneering initiative laid the foundation for a sustainable industry that now supports the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors across the country.

Company Incorporated
Official incorporation of the business, gathering engineering minds and planning the first localized carbon dioxide recovery infrastructures.
India's First Commercial CO₂ Recovery Plant
Established the country's first commercial-scale recovery system in Bathinda, Punjab, utilizing fermentation off-gas from distilleries.
Beverage and Brewery Expansion
